Enter the 3rd Dimension with our Forming and Welding Services
When laser cutting parts, they may initially consist of simple flat layouts, but at times, these flat pieces must be transformed into intricate three-dimensional shapes. When that third dimension becomes necessary, the only way to achieve it is by forming or welding.
Our shop has 3 brake presses to bend and form the flat parts into almost any shape that you need. Our 200 ton Cincinnati press can form parts up to 5/8” thick (depending on the part width), and our Baykal press can use its CNC capabilities to produce consistent and repeatable bends in large batch orders. This pairs particularly well with the CNC Laser cutting machine to maintain precision and tight tolerances at every stage of manufacturing.
Like with our other services, forming and bending parts often coincides with welding the newly created seam where the materials now meet. This type of forming is common in any part that needs added strength, or to add a different dimension for load dispersion or mounting. Steel bracketry is a typical example of how forming can make this possible.
